Bertram Hotel was where Miss Marple stayed when she visited London in Agatha Christie's crime novel with the same title. Inspired by the mirror reflection on a completely still lake, where it’s almost impossible to distinguish what is the landscape and what is the reflected image (except the fact that one of them is upside down). Also the detail side is a reflection of the image side. It looks the same, but it’s not. It's just like the people who frequent the hotel tearoom, strangers that remind you of someone you know.
