Artist Denise Fiedler’s collection Fashion Math gets its name from the vintage math flash cards (as well as recycled vintage book pages and newspapers) that make up her cut and paste collages. Black numerals give a bold focus to her work - posing as buckles, collars, scroll embroidery and other details. Denise chose the subject of fashion for its connection to the beauty of design, its playfulness and its classic, timeless style.
À propos du designer
Denise Fiedler has had a varied and accomplished history in design and the creative arts. In 1986, she launched her first business, Bravura, a textile-based fashion and home accessory company after years working in retail and interior design. In 2009, she founded paste, a new and creative take on the art of collage, using vintage and antique book pages to create representational images. Her subject matter is anything she connects with from fashion (her ‘cut and sew’ became ‘cut and paste’) to architecture and food. Denise also currently illustrates the blog The Wellingtons and has a children’s book in the works.
