You no longer need to look to Vogue or celebrities for the latest in fashion and beauty trends. Nowadays, it’s likely you also follow your favourite style blogger for fashion and beauty inspiration. Victoria Magrath is one of these key style influencers. Since she launched her beauty and fashion blog Inthefrow two years ago, her network has grown rapidly – she has over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube and more than 150,000 followers on Instagram. That’s a big fan base - we’re impressed!
One thing you’ll immediately notice about Victoria is her penchant for all things purple, from her striking, lilac-coloured hair to her love of magenta-hued accessories. Having a distinct look has created a strong fan base for Victoria and she wanted her business cards to have that similar, unique feel. “I would like to think people can relate to me in some way, but at the same time, my blog is popular because it has a unique offering – like my daily style photos with my purple hair or my how-to video tutorials,” says Victoria.
From digital to physical
Victoria chose Square Business Cards as their unique shape stands out just like she does, and they’re a natural fit to feature her Instagram images. By using her Instagram images on her cards, Victoria has now given her potential fan base, both online and offline, a sneak peek into her blogging world.
With Printfinity she was able to choose a mix of her most popular, personal style and still-life product shots from Instagram. As a result, Victoria has created a print component to her ever-popular online feed, which has proven to be a great way to promote herself and her brand. “My Square Business Cards make for an interesting conversation when the person who is receiving your card can choose the picture they like the most,” she says. We agree. Why have just one image when you can have 50?
Victoria also wanted to bring the Instagram experience into the design of her cards. “I’m on Instagram often, so I wanted my cards to represent something I'm really into,” says Victoria, “I designed an Instagram-style heart on the front of my cards so it looks like someone has just liked my photo and I made my contact information listed to look like the comment section of an Instagram post.”
Insta-pro
Instagram is Victoria’s preferred social channel as she has found it to be a quick way for users to get a glimpse into her world and often leads people back to check out her blog. “Instagram gives users access to products immediately and can direct people back to my blog if they haven’t seen a particular post that day,” she finds.
A PhD grad in mobile app design and a full-time fashion retail lecturer at the University of Manchester, Victoria takes the information she learns from running her blog to pass onto her students. “I think the blog influences my work as I can use what I know about fashion, beauty and social media trends and share that with my students,” says Victoria.
Victoria brings her business cards with her when attending industry events across the UK. “My blog reach is growing rapidly so I’ll be using my cards a lot to promote my work at networking events and at London Fashion Week.” With her new business cards, Victoria has mastered how to promote herself both digitally and physically. And we’re sure Victoria will be easily spotted in the front row next fashion week with her eye-catching hair colour to match, too.
